Julia Best Belly Dancer London

At the tender age of six, Latvian born performer Julia began studying ballroom and Latin dancing at the famous Victoria Dance School in Riga. It wasn’t long before she was travelling across Europe and winning awards in national and international contests.

 

Julia went on to study modern dance, ballet and physical theatre at the contemporary dance theatre Amrita. She toured eastern European stages and played in charity productions of children’s plays across Latvia and Russia.

Julia Belly Dancer LondonIn what proved to be a turning point in Julia’s career in 1999, Julia joined Alla Duhova’s modern ballet company Todes, a major agency providing dancers for Russia’s biggest singers.

In 2001, Julia took up bellydancing and joined Sausan, a showcase for traditional Middle Eastern dances.

While performing at concerts at home and abroad, Julia also developed her vocal skills and sang in an Orthodox choir. Deepening her embrace of Arabic culture, Julia took private lessons in Arabic singing.

 

When Julia moved to the UK In 2003, she started running her own dance school while singing at corporate events and weddings. That same year, Julia studied acting, accents, physical theatre, contemporary singing and dance at Richmond Drama College the Vocaltech School of Singing.
